The Spanish Clown Doctors (Doctores Sonrisa)

We can't all be Clown Doctors. The artists who work for the Fundación Theodora are professional and must have special artistic talents such as juggling, balloons, magic, etc. There is a very strict contract of collaboration. Improvisation, which is the heart of each performance, makes up the basis of all the Clown Doctors' activities.

In addition to artistic knowledge, the Clown Doctor must be very strong emotionally in order to deal with sick children in hospitals and, unfortunately, at times with the end of a life. Therefore, the clown doctor’s experience of work and life with healthy children is very important for the Foundation.

The Fundación Theodora has a team of fifteen Clown Doctors, who offer moments of happiness every week to children in hospitals:

In Madrid: Dr. Flips, Dra. Zepi, Dr. Teflon, Dra. Dora, Dr. Si, Dra. Amnesia, Dr. Zito, Dra. Cariburi and Dra. Xsss
In Malaga: Dr. Guay, and Dr. Bugui-Bugui
In Granada: Dra. Sapofrita
In La Coruña and Santiago de Compostela: Dra. Girasola, Dra. Kateterina and Dra. Mandarina de Falopio
In Barcelona: Dra. Xsss and Dra. Muela Rota
In Elche: Dra. Lunarcita.
