Objectives and responsibility

The focal point of all work done by the Trust and the clown doctors is the child. It is from the child that we take our cue and it is for the child that we are in the hospitals. Each visit is determined by the child, who decides whether or not they want to see the clown doctors and what sort of shape the visit will take. Any requests for visits (from the children, their parents, the staff) are passed on to the clown doctors. They aim to see about 30 children (and of course parents and siblings) on each visit.

Everyone who works for the Trust signs up to the Codes of ethics and conduct, Guidelines for working in hospitals. We observe a Child protection policy. All clown doctors are police checked by the hospital before they begin their visits.
