The Theodora Foundation was set up in Switzerland by two brothers,Andre and Jan Poulie in 1993, in memory of their mother Theodora.
The programme started in Istanbul in 1998 at the Child Clinic of Cerrahpasa Hospital of Istanbul University. In March 2000 Theodora Foundation - Turkey has been established. Then the activities have been continued in June 2000 at Semiha Sakir Child Clinic of Kartal Dr. Lutfi Kirdar Research Hospital, in March 2002 at Child Clinic of Capa Medicine School of Istanbul University and Child Clinic of Oncology Institute of Istanbul University, in April 2004 at the Child Clinic of Okmeydani SSK Hospital and at the Child Clinic of VKV American, most recently in July 2006 at Child Clinic of Bakirkoy Research Hospital of Ministry of Health.
Our team of 8 trained Theodora Clown Doctors visit more than 24.000 children and their families every year.
